Our ministers

Chadd Hafer: Minister at CroydonPark@10

When you talk to you Chadd, you’ll notice immediately that he has an American accent. But you probably already knew he’s American from his name: Chadd! He was raised a pastor’s kid from Colorado.

Chadd is a graduate of Moore Theological College. Before he came to serve with us at CroydonPark@10, he pastored at Grace Community (Springwood), Springwood Baptist, and Darling Street Anglican Churches.

But he first came to Australia over 20 years ago as the preacher on evangelistic tours with Christian basketball teams and Christian music groups. During the early 1990’s, he was teaching Scripture in a Gold Coast high school. One of those kids he taught is now our youth pastor Andrew Bardsley! Another blessing from this ministry was that Chadd taught alongside a lovely young lady called Parisa. The rest is history. They married, and today have two grown up kids: Savannah and Noah.

Chadd is eclectic. In Chadd’s garage is a gym – he’s a fitness freak. In the kitchen,

he puts together some mean Vietnamese rice paper rolls. In the forest, he once worked as a woodchopper. In the Blue Mountains, he helped Parisa run their vintage goods store, Frou Frou Old and New. In Koorong, you can find his animated children’s DVD series, The Treasure House. On his bookshelf, you’ll find The Chronicles of Narnia and Bob Dylan.

But what Chadd shares most passionately is the apostle Paul’s struggle to know nothing but the gospel. That the gospel remains central in what we do as a church. He’s passionate that non-salvation issues don’t overshadow salvation issues. Because that’s God’s passion too.

Why don’t you have a chat with Chadd? There’s sure to be lots you can talk about!

Brian King: Student Minister at CroydonPark@10

Brian is our student minister. He hails from the land of laksas and char kway teow… Malaysia! Only days after getting married to the lovely Chin Ying, they moved to Sydney to study at Sydney Missionary and Bible College, just up the road from our church.

Brian is as brainy as he looks. Prior to joining us at CroydonPark@10, he graduated with literature degrees from Oxford University as well as the University of the Arts, London. He has been ministry apprentice at St Ebbe’s, Oxford (UK) and St Mary’s Anglican Cathedral, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).

As student minister, Brian preaches, and leads a young adults’ Bible study group. If there were ever time between ministry, study and husbandhood, Brian can be found devouring a chicken laksa at Albee’s Kitchen!

Rev. Ariel Kurilowicz: Minister at strathfield 9am

Ariel is our English minister serving at our Strathfield 9am service.

He looks like any Russian mafia-gangster that you see in the movies. And his last name is never pronounced correctly in a Chinese church.

Ariel was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He moved to Sydney at a very young age and grew up in Parramatta. He is a graduate of Sydney Missionary and Bible College.

Before serving us at WSCCC, Ariel worked for 12 years at St Jude’s Anglican Church in Carlton, Melbourne as a youth and young adults minister.

Ariel loves Jesus heaps and reckons he’s the most blessed bloke in the world because he’s married to Kirsty – his beautiful wife – and is the father of three gorgeous girls and one adventurous boy. Ariel also loves meat, movies, books, chilli and riding his 150cc scooter around town.

Update: As most of you know, in September 2012, Ariel had a motorbike accident and injured his neck spinal cord at the level of C3/C4, leaving him an incomplete quadriplegic.

As a result of your prayers, Ariel is making an amazing recovery. But there is still no guarantee that he will walk again, so he needs our daily prayers! You can follow Ariel’s progress on this blog which is updated 2-3 times per week.

Andrew Bardsley: Youth Pastor

Andrew is our youth pastor.

On the outside, Andrew looks like a regular north coast (Ballina!) surfie. But on the inside, Andrew is a nerdy academic – he loves to read and research. Now that he has finished his Master of Divinity (at Sydney Missionary and Bible College) he will study a Master of Arts (Theology).

Andrew also has a BA and DipEd and was a high school visual arts teacher. He loves to use his creativity to come up with imaginative ways to explain God’s amazing message of freedom in the Bible.

Andrew is married to Krissie, and they have two young children.

Rev. Keith Noldt: Minister at strathfield 9am

When you visit us at strathfield 9am, you will hear Keith preaching God’s message from the Bible to us.

Keith is our interim minister, while Ariel continues to recover on sick leave.

Keith is married to Janette and they have two adult daughters and three grandchildren.
